Terms of service
Effective date: 26 September 2026
The service
OpenInk Studio is software for tattoo artists and studios. It provides public pages, consultation forms, follow-up status, booking links with deposits, a calendar with reminders, and team access controls. You remain responsible for reviewing information, tattoo work, health screening, client communication, and compliance with local rules. We improve the product over time and notify account holders before material changes that affect their use.
Accounts and use
An account belongs to one person. Protect your sign-in credentials and tell us if you believe someone else is using them. Workspace access depends on role. Owners and managers control shared studio intake. Individual artists may access only the personal consultations and records their role permits. Remove members who no longer work with you. You must be able to enter a contract where you live and hold any licences required for tattooing. Do not use Studio unlawfully, harass others, upload content without rights, or bypass technical limits. We may suspend misuse and, where reasonable, explain the reason first.
Subscriptions and billing
Every new account receives 30 days of full access without a card. Continued paid features require a Studio subscription. Available plans, billing intervals, seat quantities, and prices are shown before purchase. Stripe processes subscriptions, which renew automatically until canceled. Cancellation stops the next renewal while access continues through the paid period. Refunds are not prorated after a period starts unless local law requires otherwise. Seat changes may be prorated. Studio can also take booking deposits from your clients. When you send a booking link, the client pays the deposit through Stripe into your own connected Stripe account. OpenInk never holds that money and is not a party to the booking: you are responsible for the appointment, for the cancellation and refund rules you set, and for refunding through your Stripe account when those rules say so. On top of the deposit, OpenInk charges the client a platform service fee. The rate depends on your plan when you send the link: 10% of the deposit on Free, and 5% on Artist Pro, Studio Pro and during your first 30 days of full access; for connected Stripe accounts based in Thailand the member rate is 7%. Each fee has a minimum that depends on your plan: US$3.99, €3.49 or £2.99 on Free, and US$2.50, €1.99 or £1.99 on paid plans and during the first 30 days; in other currencies the minimum is the equivalent set to a familiar local price, and the link preview and payment page show the exact amount. The rate and minimum are fixed when the link is sent, so changing plans later does not affect links you have already sent. The fee is shown as a separate line before the client pays, is collected in the same Stripe payment, and is settled to OpenInk by Stripe. Whether the service fee is refunded on cancellation follows the rules you had in place when the link was sent. The same applies to the balance. Once the deposit is paid, you can request the rest of the session price from the booking: the client pays it through the same link into your Stripe account, and OpenInk charges the client the service fee at the rate and minimum that applied to your plan when you requested it. Collecting the balance through OpenInk is optional; you can still take it in the studio. If you refund a balance, the full amount including the service fee goes back to the client. Whenever a service fee is refunded to the client, OpenInk deducts from the part it returns to you the processing and payout fees that Stripe does not refund; the client still receives the full amount. Booking and balance links can only be sent while your payout currency matches the currency of your connected Stripe account. The cancellation, rescheduling, and refund rules a client sees are frozen at the moment the booking link is created. Later changes to your rules do not affect bookings already made.
Content and ownership
Your portfolio images, flash designs, page copy, consultation material, and other content remain yours or your licensor’s. We claim no ownership. You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display content only to operate features you enable, such as publishing a portfolio, processing a consultation, and storing reference images for authorized review. The licence ends when the content or account is deleted, subject to backup and legal retention periods. Upload only content you have the right to use. We may remove material after a valid rights complaint. OpenInk Studio software, branding, and interface remain ours.
Liability
The service is provided as available. We work to keep it reliable and accurate, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for the tattoo work itself, a client’s reaction, or a conversation or inquiry that does not result in work. Where law allows limits, our total liability for claims connected to the service is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. This does not limit liability that law does not allow us to limit. Either party may end the agreement; if we end it without cause, we refund the unused part of a paid period.
Contact
Reach us at support@openink-studio.com. We update these terms as the product changes. Meaningful changes are announced to account holders before they take effect, with the effective date above updated. Continuing to use Studio after that date means the new terms apply.
